The Grandeur of NAVARRA AND SOMONTANO WINES Captivates EUROPEAN JOURNALISTS

The Denominations of Origin Navarra and Somontano took center stage in a press trip organized by OIVE, introducing five European media professionals to their exceptional wines. From October 14 to 18, the group explored the quality and versatility of these wine regions as part of the European promotional campaign A Shared Passion.

The all-female group of journalists represented three key markets for Spanish wine: the Netherlands, Poland, and Ireland. Each participant was a wine specialist, contributing to leading magazines and programs in their respective countries.

The journey began in Madrid with a masterclass hosted by the Spanish Union of Wine Tasters (UEC). The following day, the group traveled to Olite, Navarra’s wine capital, where they began with a tasting session at the Regulatory Council of the DO, followed by visits and tastings at various wineries.

Later, after exploring other areas of the Foral Community, the group headed to Somontano. There, they enjoyed an overview at the Regulatory Council before diving into a more hands-on experience at several wineries within the DO.

In just four days, the trip offered a glimpse into the rich and diverse Spanish wine scene, enabling the journalists to expand their knowledge and share their insights with their readers and audiences.
