The FUTURE CHEFS AND HOSPITALITY PROFESSIONALS of Madrid and Barcelona are being trained in the quality of SPANISH WINES
#aSharedPassion ♥
There is no doubt that the future of gastronomy lies in hospitality schools. From these institutions will emerge the chefs, sommeliers, and hoteliers who will set the pace of our cuisine and showcase it to the world. Therefore, it is essential for them to become familiar with all the possibilities offered by wine, a product inseparable from the Iberian culinary tradition. In this regard, five workshops under the European campaign A Shared Passion have served to bring the enological reality of Spain and Portugal with all its quality, diversity, and excellence closer to hospitality students in Madrid and Barcelona.
Between December 8 and 18, the workshops took place at “Escuela Superior de Hostelería de Barcelona” (ESHOB) and the “Escuela Superior de Hostelería y Turismo de Madrid” (ESHTM). Each session, lasting about 90 minutes, was led by a professional sommelier and divided into two parts: an introduction to the ‘A Shared Passion’ campaign and the qualities of wine, followed by a tasting of a selection of wines highlighting the diversity of DOs and IGPs present in Spain.
In total, 110 future chefs and hospitality professionals from Spain’s two main cities had the opportunity to deeply explore the Iberian enological universe and approach for the first time a world that will be very useful in their professional development.
