EUROPEAN PRESS explores the QUALITY OF CATALAN wine producers with OIVE

The latest edition of the international wine fair “Barcelona Wine Week”, held from February 05th to the 07th, in Barcelona, was the preamble for the first trip within the programme of visits to Spanish wine regions organised by the “Interprofesional del Vino de España” (OIVE).

After two intense days of learning about the quality of Spanish wines through masterclasses and tastings at the fair’s stands, the group travelled to different Catalan designations of origin to get a closer look at prestigious brands such as Raventós Codorníu, Albet i Noya, Torres, Juvé & Camps, Álvaro Palacios, Mas d’en Gil, Cooperativa de Capçanes and Clos Galena.

This study trip is part of a busy schedule of trips by European journalists to the wine regions of Spain and Portugal as part of the European programme ‘A Shared Passion’.

It began in 2022 in the Community of Madrid and Toledo and continued in 2023 to the Designations of Origin of Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia, Aragon, Castilla y León, Galicia and La Rioja, as well as two trips to Portugal. And now Catalonia has kicked off a new year full of this type of international visits.
