European JOURNALISTS visit the RIBERA DEL DUERO, TORO, and RUEDA DOs to learn about the richness of WINES in SPAIN
#aSharedPassion ♥
From June 19 to 23, journalists from Lithuania, Poland, and Ireland will visit vineyards and wineries in Spain to learn first-hand about how the Spanish winemaking sector operates, during a trip organized by the Spanish Wine Interprofessional Organization (OIVE). During the trip, the journalists will attend a masterclass taught by the Spanish Union of Wine Tasters (UEC) in Madrid, which will include a guided tasting of some of the representative varieties of Spanish wines.
On this occasion, the journalists visited wineries in the Designations of Origin Ribera del Duero (Protos), Rueda (Cuatro Rayas and José Pariente) and Toro (Pagos del Rey and Fariña), as well as Abadía Retuerta, which has its own Designation of Origin Pago since 2022.
In the last week of June, another group of European experts is also expected to see in person the projects being carried out in the four Aragonese designations of origin, and to taste a sample of the wines made by the wineries there.
This initiative is part of the travel plan organised by Interprofesional del Vino de España (OIVE), included in the programme A Shared Passion, which is being developed together with Interprofesional del Vino de Portugal (ViniPortugal). In both countries, European journalists are touring the main wine-growing regions.
