European JOURNALISTS visit the heart of Spanish PROTECTED DESIGNATIONS OF ORIGIN AND PROTECTED GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS

The aim was for European journalists to broaden their knowledge so that they can disseminate information about the wines of Spain and Portugal. To make this possible, we organized a trip (from May 8 to 12) with a very comprehensive itinerary: interesting tours of Spanish vineyards and wineries, a masterclass on Spanish wines taught by the Spanish Union of Wine Tasters (UEC) in Madrid, and a guided tasting of the representative varieties of Spanish wines. 

Additionally, journalists from Italy, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Sweden learned first-hand about the Designations of Origin of Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia, visited the 12th FENAVIN Spanish Wine Fair held in May in Ciudad Real, and tried excellent wines at a dinner held at Vinoteca García de La Navarra in Madrid.

This was the second press trip organized by OIVE as part of the campaign A Shared Passion, which was developed by the Spanish and Portuguese wine interprofessional organizations to promote their shared passion for the wine of the two countries.
