CASTILLA LA MANCHA and its DOs show the QUALITY of their WINES in EUROPE
#aSharedPassion ♥
In the second week of September, a select group of European communication professionals had the opportunity to visit the DO La Mancha and other adjacent DOs, such as “Manchuela” and the new “Campo de Calatrava”, thanks to the “Organización Interprofesional del Vino de España” (OIVE). They did so as part of the European promotional campaign ‘A Shared Passion’.
Coming from important countries for the export of the region’s wines, such as the Netherlands, Poland, Ireland and Hungary, the five journalists who took part in this press trip (who publish in prestigious specialised and general media), have immersed themselves in the wine culture of Castilla-La Mancha during four days full of activities, from 9 to 12 September.
Specifically, after a first approach to Spanish wines in Madrid through a masterclass led by the chef, taster and gastronomic advisor Arturo Garre, they headed to La Mancha, where they were able to visit the Regulatory Council of the DO La Mancha in Alcázar de San Juan, a privileged place in which to soak up the history, terroir, traditions and climate of this privileged area for the practice of viticulture.
Over the next three days, they had the opportunity to get to know first-hand seven wineries in the region, as a small representation of the vibrant wine scene that Castilla-La Mancha currently enjoys. This was just a taste of what these designations of origin have to offer in terms of wine, so once they have returned to their home countries, they may recommend them to their readers and listeners.
