From November 11th to 16th, an international press trip toured the Denominations of Origin Jerez-X\u00e9r\u00e8s-Sherry and M\u00e1laga<\/strong>. Organized by OIVE<\/strong> as part of the European promotional campaign A Shared Passion<\/strong><\/em>, the four participating journalists enjoyed the distinctive flavors of Andalusian wines and uncovered their secrets.<\/p>\n

The journalists, all wine specialists, hailed from countries where Spanish wine holds significant growth potential: Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Poland<\/strong>. Tina Helena Johansson, Kirsten Andringa, Rebecca O\u2019Flynn, and Lukasz Modelski contribute to leading magazines and television and radio programs in their respective countries. Many also have experience as sommeliers or wine educators.<\/p>\n

The journey began in Madrid with a masterclass at the Spanish Union of Wine Tasters (UEC). The next day, the trip continued to Jerez, where the group started with a tasting session at the Regulatory Council of the DO<\/strong>, followed by visits and tastings at various wineries over two days.<\/p>\n

The remaining days were dedicated to the Denomination of Origin M\u00e1laga and Sierras de M\u00e1laga, exploring wineries and experiencing the vibrant wine culture of the city.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, it was a week that felt too short to fully delve into the rich and diverse Spanish wine scene, particularly in two such historic wine-producing regions as Jerez and M\u00e1laga.<\/strong><\/p>\n
